Things to Know
Can plans change?
Bad weather, unsafe seas:
Sailing is entirely dependent on the weather, the wind, and the state of the sea. To plan a sailing experience, we depend on various weather forecasts which we check, as well as on our long-time knowledge and experience of the local conditions of the sea. But sometimes these are not accurate. As safety comes first and foremost, we will have to change, postpone, or cancel a sailing experience if we find that the conditions are unsafe for sailing.
In case the sea is unsafe to sail in, we can change the plan from a sea sail to a backwater sailing experience. This will be done in consultation with you.
In case postponement of a sailing experience is possible, an alternate suitable time will be discussed with you.
In case the sailing experience must be cancelled by us, the advance payment will be refunded 100%.
You’re getting delayed
We will try to accommodate your delays as much as possible. But if we have back-to-back bookings, we won’t be able to accommodate your delays. This means that if we start late because of your delay, your sailing time could get reduced without any reduction of the sailing charges to be paid by you.
We’re getting delayed
We will try to avoid delays as much as possible. But if we are running late, we will ensure that you get your full time of sailing.
Rescheduling
If you need to reschedule a sailing plan with us, please let us know as soon as possible. But not later than 24 hours before the scheduled time. We will always try to accommodate your new plans. But in case you want to reschedule the plan with less then 24 hours’ notice, and we can’t find another mutually convenient slot for you, the sailing experience may have to be cancelled.
Cancellation
If a sailing experience is cancelled by us, we will refund the entire amount that was collected.
If a sailing experience is cancelled by you with less than 24 hours’ notice, the advance payment shall not be refunded.
Safety and risk
We take all the necessary precautions to make you have a safe sailing experience. But sailing is an “adventure sport” and therefore has an element of risk. For this purpose, you will be asked to sign an Indemnity letter before you set sail.
What should I wear?
Wear light, comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting wet in. Carry a hat that you can tie to your head or chances are that it’ll fly off in the wind. You may want to put on some sunscreen.
It’s a good idea to have your hair tied because it may fly over your face with the breeze and also get entangled in the ropes and pulleys (this can hurt!).
What should I eat before sailing?
The best foods are light and bland, such as plain bread, crackers, or a light dry snack. Having some food in your stomach is better than having an empty stomach but be careful not to eat too much.
Will I get seasick?
Most people don’t feel sea sickness. It is mostly those who suffer from motion sickness on land (in a car or bus) who could feel sea sickness on a boat. Additionally, the chances of feeling sea sickness on a sailboat are less than on a motorboat. If you are not sure, you can take some preventive medication or try some alternative treatment methods.
